Semiotics

Semiotics advertisements are every where you probably see them at least once a day. I chose to explain how the commercial by Dior is very semiotics with many myths attached to it. The Dior commercial is a perfume advertisement. This perfume is quite expensive and it supposed to be used for special events or gatherings. The myth within this commercial is that wearing this perfume is will make you very sexy, fresh, and light wight. A perfume can't make you do or be a curtain way it is just a fragrance that makes a person smell good. Lots of people use perfume to cover up a smell they have and want to get rid of, or to add a little extra to their outfits. Lastly, a perfume can not and has not ever made me feel light weight. It is just a mist of water and other added chemicals. For me it has just been something else to add to my outfit. The signifier is Dior which the name and brand on the bottle.  IT is something people have seen before not just on this specific commercial. The sign is the perfume, people know what it is. Also the signified a perfume bottle because people know what a perfume bottle may look like even if it is really fancy or just a $5 bottle. Sexy   Light weight

Fresh
