old boy

I am going to use the theme of monstrosity. Monstrosity appears multiple times durning the film. Oh Dae-Su was just a regular person with a drinking problem, and being locked up for 15 years the way he was turned him into the monster he is now. A couple of examples are when he first got out he was placed on hotel roof and said, "Even though I'm no better than a beast, don't I have the right to live"? This explains how he know what he has become and doesn't know what he can do about it. Another example of him being a monster is his hair, his hair is so crazy and wild it looks like a beast. This really gives him the whole look and feel of a crazy messed up person. One the things that happened to him in prison that made him look very messed up and crazy, was the ants that came out of his skin and then was attacked by a million of them. Oh Dat-Su fought with the wall to practice becoming a good fighter for if he would need it one day when he got out. this was smart, b...

Semiotics

Image
Semiotics advertisements are every where you probably see them at least once a day. I chose to explain how the commercial by Dior is very semiotics with many myths attached to it. The Dior commercial is a perfume advertisement. This perfume is quite expensive and it supposed to be used for special events or gatherings. The myth within this commercial is that wearing this perfume is will make you very sexy, fresh, and light wight. A perfume can't make you do or be a curtain way it is just a fragrance that makes a person smell good. Lots of people use perfume to cover up a smell they have and want to get rid of, or to add a little extra to their outfits. Lastly, a perfume can not and has not ever made me feel light weight. It is just a mist of water and other added chemicals. For me it has just been something else to add to my outfit. The signifier is Dior which the name and brand on the bottle.  IT is something people have seen before not just on this specific commercial. The ...
There is so many different kinds of gamification. It can be with apps, games, and something that can be learned with the guarantee that people can accomplish and achieve a curtain goal. I decided to explain more in-depth about  Duolingo . Duolingo is an app where people can go and learn many languages like German, Spanish, French, and even English. As Duolingo is trying to help teach the user they use trivia games and puzzles to help teach people. However, when the user is learning there is levels that they have to accomplish to move on to the next level of the language. If the user isn't doing so well and is getting the questions wrong Duolingo will ask the user to take a break and come back later once they have learned the vocabulary. Duolingo starts off with very easy levels to introduce the language to the user. The levels get harder and harder, and they add more words and phrases, this makes it harder for the user to keep moving up. I think some concerns are that people will g...

Global media

In America we use tons of different types of global media content. The global media that I engage in every day is German music. I went to Germany this last summer and I was exposed to tons on German music, and I enjoyed it so much that every time a song came on I shazamed it or I asked what the name of the song was.  German music is just so up beat and fun to listen to. For genres I like German rap or hiphop. In the songs they sing about a lot of the same things as American artist would sing about. However, when I look up the lyrics on Apple Music the wording and phrases come up so much different than we should say them in English. When I have watched music videos and talk shows they seem to be very similar to American artist, in the way that they dress the same and act the same. The music does teach me that even though we are 4,000 miles away we still have some of the same types of music, similar lyrics, and a lot of their artist dress and and act a lot like American artist do.
