For the first set of information I got off of the chart, based on the estimated burglary in New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, from 2009-2014. New York, North Carolina, and North Dakota all had numerous burglaries that occured in between these five years. However, New York and North Carolina had a tremendous amount compared to North Dakota. Burglary is classified as an “entry into a building illegally with intent to commit a crime, especially theft”. The crime I chose had the highest number in North Carolina, but the least number of burglaries were in North Dakota. This would because there is more empty land and less people in North Dakota than there is in North Carolina or New York.
The second crime is aggravated assault, and the states it occured in the years of 2008-2013 were California, Colorado, Connecticut. Aggravated assault is when, “the act of inflicting physical harm or unwanted physical contact upon a person or, in some specific legal way”. People do not ask or want to be assaulted because a lot of the time people come out the other side with PTSD. California is shown to have the most aggravated assault cases. This is because they have a constant booming and growing population. Also California is known for its low living standards and poverty levels. This could mean that people were not raised in a good home or have anger issues because of the way they grew up. However, in Connecticut they have way less aggravated assaults because there aren't as many people and they have better living areas and conditions. One positive thing about aggravated assault from 2008-2013 is that it had actually decreased a lot in 2013 compared from the years before. In 2013, California had 80,000 more assaults than Colorado alone.
